Schubert and surprises

eve_primeFor me, today’s big highlight was the Delgani concert in person. My friend SDH joined me, as she’s done every time this year, and we also talked with her friend JH. I am still humming the Schubert String Quartet #15, which is a monumentally long string quartet (nearly 45 minutes) and so very beautiful. Afterwards I talked with Kim (viola), our mutual friend Julia F (violin but not with Delgani), and Anthea (first violin) and ate very tasty snacks.
When I got home, J and I immediately did our weekly grocery shopping – it was a week where if you spend over $200 you get 15% off everything, so we made a point to spend that much. Then when I walked into my house with my first bag of the groceries, I discovered that D. had removed his mattresses from his bed, and one was in the livingroom! He was doing a major cleaning. He had found more ants, which were coming from the wall socket next to his bed, which was missing its socket cover, so I’d bought him a couple of those earlier in the day, and while he was at it he was determined to vacuum under the bed too (a good plan).
After I was done with putting away the groceries and helping D maneuver the mattresses back into place, I returned to J’s house and discovered that he had acquired the early access version of the new Hades II game! He had actually done so yesterday but knew that the music and movement might give me a headache and very considerately waited to start playing the new game until after the Delgani concert. Wasn’t that kind of him? So far it’s treating my head okay, though, and it is certainly beautiful. I’ve been writing about the original Hades game in the paper I’m finishing, so it was very timely and a great surprise.
