Meeting the neighbors
Apr. 25th, 2024 11:54 pmWe have such a variety of walks in our neighborhood, and my standard is the generally flat walk from here to the middle school and back a different way. It would be good, though, to get more aerobic exercise, and there are lots of options for that, so today I decided to go with the Knob Hill / Glen Oak loop. It's 23 minutes (just a bit longer than the school and back) and gains elevation of 80 feet - not much, but it's something. I went the less-steep direction. At the bottom of the hill by the old school, I saw these deer munching on some wistaria:

Then after I got home, I went to look at the apple tree, rose bush, and blackberries in the back yard, and found this timid doe beneath the damaged oak:

Other things today: Azalyn and Ambrose turned three years old, and also I finally made some very satisfying progress on my paper about climate change and videogames. This is my third organization of the material, and although I left out a lot of the last draft, I'm much more satisfied with it. After I tidy it up a bit more, I'll see if J has time to read it, and I'll start learning and writing about specific games.
