Wolverine?!
Apr. 6th, 2024 11:58 pmA few days ago, we had wolverine sightings in our neighborhood! There's a video taken about a quarter mile from my house, and photos taken half a mile on the other side of my house. Wolverines do not live here. There are a few in the northeastern corner of the state, more than 200 miles away, but the wildlife experts think this one is from the Mt Adams area in Washington, basically north of us and a bit further inland, about 180 miles away. A wolverine was also spotted in multiple towns on the coast in the last few weeks, and the experts think it's the same animal, which can travel about 30 miles a day. Maybe it's looking for somewhere new to live? The experts say it needs a snowpack, though, which it won't find around here. Last year one was spotted a bit inland from Portland, around the same time of year. Very interesting, but not safe for pets, so I'm glad it's probably moved on by now.
