Bookshops & Bonedust, by Travis Baldree. In this prequel to Legends & Lattes, Baldree describes a key incident in Viv the orc's backstory that laid the seed for her eventual retirement from adventuring. Early in her career, she was working as part of a mercenary troop that was trying to bring down a necromancer, when she rashly got injured. The troop left her behind in a seaside town, and she had to spend her rehabilitation there - especially in its very scruffy bookshop. Lots of fun new characters and an epilogue that brings us back to the present day. A real pleasure.
