Trying to make the most of the sunshine
Apr. 2nd, 2024 11:54 pmToday was the last sunny day for maybe a week, and I wanted to make the most of it so I scheduled out the daylight hours carefully. I wanted to go look for the wildflowers by the two schools, but I also wanted to save the time it would take to walk three extra blocks, so I drove - but since school was about to get out, I parked near rather than at the school.
Meanwhile, when I got in the car I heard the most amazing music on the radio - inspired by baroque but with extra low brass - and I wanted to know what it was. Unfortunately, the piece alternated this really cool stuff with some incredibly insipid stuff. I thought surely I must be listening to a film score, but it turned out to be opus 113 by Franz Lachner, a minor German composer of the 19th century, and it's good that I listened until the end because I'll probably never hear it on the radio again.
Waiting and waiting for that to end ate up a bunch of my schedule. I did see the wildflowers, and I photographed a bunch but haven't done anything with the photos yet. When I got home I did mow parts of the lawn, but I didn't have time to work on the blackberry vines or to read outside. Oh well, it was only April 2!
