A Friday update

My neighbor Amber is feeling better about the situation with the squatters next door - the police are now actively involved, and there's a long-term plan for the house once they can get those people out. Last night she finally slept properly for the first time in a week.

Also, that huge branch / section of tree trunk that fell in the ice storm has now been removed, and I don't think they even woke J up.

The Friday movie was the 2002 version of The Time Machine. I've seen the 1960 version numerous times, and I'm pretty sure that I've read the book, but I didn't think I'd seen this version at all; I didn't even remember that it existed. Watching it, though, I eventually realized that I'd seen it once, quite some time ago. I recognized the basket-like houses the Eloi lived in, on the cliffsides, and the AI librarian.

J felt mildly unwell today and may not go to the last RCQ event tomorrow (last chance to qualify for Dallas); DG may have to go alone.

Thank goodness the police are now involved. They could burn that place down. I am relieved for Amber to get some sleep.

They still have to collect more evidence before they can get a warrant to go inside, but I hope that will be soon.
