Chicago day 1

eve_primeToday was the first day of MagicCon Chicago. J&D played in minor events all day, then were very worn out and got back to their hotel room after the hotel restaurant had closed. They're staying in a neighborhood with no real food options, so D. ordered from Popeye's and had to wait a very long time for it to arrive. Unfortunately, they ordered chicken strips and extra fries but received shrimp and wings. I hope tomorrow they'll plan their days better.
Meanwhile, I finally got almost all of our holiday newsletters into the mail. As always, if you don't already get one and would like one, just give me your address. Whew, what a relief! There are still a few more to go, but they're stamped and ready, and I'll probably mail them on Sunday or Monday. Other things about today: The Friday movie was a Kurosawa film named Yojimbo (note that A Fistful of Dollars was a direct rip-off). For a black-and-white longish and occasionally gruesome movie in Japanese, I was surprised at how often I laughed out loud. I also had more energy today and made a lasagna, which I probably hadn't done in over a year.
