eve_primeLabyrinth and The Borders of Infinity, by Lois McMaster Bujold. Novellas. In Labyrinth, Miles and his team visit Jackson's Whole, a dreadful world where money can buy you nearly everything; he makes a new friend. The other story is grim, with Miles stuck within a nightmare POW camp. I'm glad to be past that one.
