Not the greatest wedding anniversary, but we're safe, and warm, and fed. I went outside when D was leaving to visit S. J came down the driveway slowly, carefully, using a big stick, and D went to J's porch and got himself a stick too. After D had gone, J and I went to my backyard to see the poor tattered scarlet oak. The weeds were surprisingly interesting when coated with ice, and it was fun to photograph them.

I then went inside to make my breakfast. J headed home to work on the hot tub awning, which was a mess with ice. He phoned me for my input, which was a mistake, as the sounds of whatever he was doing with the ice were painful over the phone and triggered a headache, so I ended up spending most of the rest of the day in bed. I read a lot and had a nap too.

I had wanted to visit his house but it was probably for the best that I didn't feel up to trying, as I could easily have gotten injured, and going to an urgent care center would have been quite a challenge. D surprised me by returning from S's house around 5 pm, so at least I had some company here.

We expect one more day of ice - tomorrow we'll be getting more freezing rain and/or snow. They do assure us that Wednesday will be considerably warmer.

Oh no, the sounds and the headache, I am so sorry that happened to you. This weather is pretty harsh for even here and especially for you and your area.

It's pretty cold and icky outside. Stay as cozy as possible.

Hugs, helen
