I'm not sure what to make of these forecasts for tomorrow. Starting at 8 am it's going to be below freezing, and Weather Underground says we'll have 1.37" of freezing rain (3.5 cm). Why freezing rain instead of snow? Do they know for some reason that the air between the clouds and the ground will be above freezing so the water will fall as rain until it gets to the colder ground?
On the other hand, the Microsoft forecast that pops up in my taskbar was calling for 10-16" of snow! That also seems excessive, though I guess such things do happen.
