Day 1243: Rescheduling
Aug. 15th, 2023 04:28 pmLooks like we're going to try again for book club a week from Thursday. Our friend with health issues and a recent Covid exposure wasn't feeling up to it, and when I woke to air quality rated "hazardous" and Nextdoor reports of falling ash, I decided I didn't feel like meeting on Zoom either.
D. rescheduled his allergy shot, blocked the front door with a giant cat food bag, and sequestered himself in his bedroom with his nice air purifier. I'm not sure if he put the cat food bag there to block any air that might circulate under the door, or if he was asking me not to open the door to feed the porch cats, but I haven't opened the door.
Meanwhile, thankfully, the local particulate level has dropped from the 300s down around 50, and with the wind forecast I'd expect it to keep falling at least until 9 pm. The porch cats can wait to be fed until 6 pm or so, and maybe things will be fine by then?
