Day 1240: Saturday stuff
Aug. 12th, 2023 11:55 pmToday I worked on that cost paper thing until the monitor was giving me a headache. Then I watched a new (to me) Babylon 5 episode, and then I mowed J's lawn for Tuesday's book club meeting, because today was the last non-hot day for that. Here is our horrifying forecast... Sunday 104°, Monday 109°!!!, Tuesday 105°, Wednesday 103°, then back to normal soon after that. (In Celsius, that's Sunday 40°, Monday 43°, Tuesday 41°, Wednesday 39°.) I foresee lots of hiding in the house, although I guess I do have to head out mid-day to liberate the cats from J's house. Hm.
Anyway, then I rested my eyes by reading in J's house, keeping the cats company, then I came home and watched the rest of a Hallmark movie to make space for tonight's anime, which I'll have to wait to watch until J's return. The movie was a sequel to Big Sky, the one where a New York teacher and a Montana cop get together with no particular cultural differences *ahem* because she likes country music. This one, naturally, was the story of their engagement and wedding.
Meanwhile, here's what J did with his brother's family and his mom: They visited the Cape Fear Museum, then took the Southpoint Ferry to Fort Fisher, then to a nearby beach where he and his brother did some swimming, then they drove up the peninsula until home again. They ate Mexican food, then his brother played some video games with the kids, then J. watched Babylon 5 with me, then eventually he went to bed.
