Today I woke with very low energy (but a fine mood). It really was a challenge to do much at all beyond Spider Solitaire, and once I fed the cats it took me ages to get around to breakfast. The weather was very fine, and J was spending much of the afternoon outside, and eventually I roused myself enough to walk up the driveway to join him. He'd gone back inside, though, so I took his reclining lawn chair and just lay there, gazing up at the clouds and the passing cabbage butterflies and such. For something like ten minutes, I only looked toward the right side of the sky for a while, then the left for a while, back and forth. But that was really too inert, so I moved over to my own chair and did some reading.

After that I was rather livelier - three loads of laundry and a quick trip to Safeway. Then mid-evening I remembered waking up for the day with my eyes all gummy and realized that I must be allergic to something that I wasn't aware of before. The grass pollen season is basically done, and the local pollen counts for weeds have been low, but maybe there's something in our own yards that's the problem. It's good to have a working theory, in any case.

Sympathies re the mystery allergy. I woke up yesterday with my nose almost totally blocked. I used the neti pot last night before bed and this morning my sinuses were much better. I think the problem is that the pollen forecasts are general over a wide area, whilst I suspect that due to plants in local gardens or wild areas with weeds, the local pollen count could be way higher.

That sounds like allergy lethargy for sure. It does make one wonder what exactly it could be. I hope today you feel better!

Hugs, Helen
