Day 1201: Very warm Wednesday
Jul. 5th, 2023 11:54 pmToday was hot again, but tomorrow should be cooler! I stayed indoors until nearly 5 pm and got a fair amount of work done, then I sat outside in the shade and read stuff about irony and Edward Abbey. There's a hummingbird enjoying the crocosmia blossoms, and the cats are fascinated - at one point I had its fluttering shadow on the book I was reading. J's photo:

J finished reading Sanderson's new Kickstarter book, and I made more progress on Children of Ruin, and when it was cool enough and not quite yet dark we did a walk.

Date: 2023-07-11 09:13 am (UTC)Today I noticed at least three different birds, maybe four. And from what the internet shows me, they must all be female (probably Anna's hummingbird), as they're all fairly drab. They have brownish whitish chests and heads and a greenness to their backs. One has a flash of red on its throat, one has a ring of white around its neck.
