Day 1200: Happy Fourth
Jul. 4th, 2023 11:44 pmToday we celebrated the Fourth of July with DG, JC, and D, all of their partners being busy. It was 97F, but quite nice anyway in the shaded part of J's yard. He did some grilling, and we ate and talked, mostly about games and gaming. Apparently DG was quite the rascal as a 10-year-old on a text-based multiplayer game much like the MUD where J and I met; we'd heard about it before too. JC had recently finished a game he enjoyed very much. After they left, J and I read outside for more than an hour, then we walked to the school where we normally get to see some aerial fireworks. Not this year, though, as Eugene now has a total ban except for the formal fireworks show, which we could hear pretty well although it was about four miles away.
I even did some work earlier today, although since it involved writing about the Gettysburg Address, at least it felt timely!
