Day 1168: Loud concert

eve_primeI went to see the university symphony today, for their last concert of the school year. They played a short work by Balakirev and then Tchaikovsky's fourth symphony. The main melody of the second movement is extraordinariy beautiful. The third has some nice bits, and I'm generally okay with the fourth, but the first is really loud, and at some points surpassed "really loud" - the fourth repeats that a bit too.
The best part was in the lobby when I was leaving. There was a tall young man with his friends who was SO excited. I heard him say, "Wow wow wow, I love Tchaikovsky EVEN MORE now!"
