Day 1150: Mother's Day

eve_primeHappy Mother’s Day to all moms out there, and all those who have ever been in a mom-like role to anyone. Here’s how my day went.
First, I got a Happy Mother’s Day text message from B, which was nice. Then I was rushing to prepare for today’s Delgani concert, which I watched online, as my in-person ticket is for Tuesday. I didn’t have time to watch all the pre-concert talks today, though, and I was also pretty sleepy. I watched the concert, or rather, I listened, since my eyes were shut much of the time, and afterwards I took a nap.
When I woke, D. was home from work, and he said he’d join us after his shower. I went to visit J, who’d called his mom earlier, and we went to look at the fallen section of fence in my back yard, then we went indoors where D. gave me an amusing card and a plush otter.
I’d tried ordering pizza, but the pizza place never picked up, so I ordered Thai instead, and while J. went off to pick up the food, D. and I set up a card table and dishes, etc., in the back yard by the water feature. Today had been well into the 90s, but at this point it was 8 pm, and it was fine outside, really very nice. We ate dinner and chatted a while, then we went inside and voted (school board election, mostly), then we watched What We Do in the Shadows, which D. hadn’t seen. J didn’t really want to see it again but humored me. Then they discussed Pokemon a whole bunch, since J’s doing some Pokemon-related challenge for his online game club, having borrowed a game and 3DS from D. And then I read a while. Such a nice day!
