Day 1145: Warming weather

Today was the first day in an increasingly warm week; we expect 94 on Sunday, which will not be great!, but today it was 73, which was just lovely (and much warmer than yesterday). On my way home from the library I did an impromptu walk in an interesting little neighborhood that I'd only explored once before, just southwest of the old library and east of the fairgrounds. I saw... attractive and sometimes architecturally interesting houses that often had inviting covered porches, numerous flowers - mostly scilla but also lilacs and iris, a little snake, an old VW van sitting on a lawn, and a homemade fountain.

After I got home, I turned on the water feature and ate some risotto outside for lunch, then read a while. Then I put the cats inside and did some mowing. I still haven't managed to have all of our lawns mowed at once - the fact that we have only one mower battery now, with only a 20-minute charge, is quite a limitation. Prices have gone up for the batteries, too - it would cost about $120 to buy another one. I remember them being $50-709ish before.

We have two lawn mower batteries and that really helps yet usually we once need one per time we mow. So I think you do have more lawn than we do. Well, some of ours has just gone to weeds.

We have two houses with about five sections of lawn, depending on how you count, so it's a lot. We're on our third or fourth battery at this point - originally it came with two but they both wore out.

Oh! That is a lot, 5 sections. We only have about three sections then two weedy areas that just need done now and then. Our two batteries have not worn out yet, now I am getting worried!

If there weren't any fences and gates, it would just be three sections, but two of those sections would be quite big! There are also lots of flowerbeds filled with grass and weeds (and a few flowers), but I mostly ignore them. Too much work.
