Day 1143: A damp walk

This afternoon during a break in the rain, I went for a walk south and west of us.

First I went south on this street:



Then I crossed Willamette Street (pronounced wil-LAM-it) and headed into the Brae Burn neighborhood. Cars on Willamette are generally going pretty fast, since it's the edge of town, but there's a traffic light. Otherwise the kids who live west of Willamette would have a very hard time getting safely to school.



See the little sign on the left? That's the start of a trail that goes between and behind the houses. I only went a few steps along the trail, to a bridge over a creek, then turned back.



Looking south on the street where D's friend MM's parents live. It started raining right after that, so I put the camera away (and got very wet, as I was 15 minutes away from home).

It's so fresh and pretty - the trees have brand new leaves, and the lawns haven't turned brown yet. :)

Ha, not until your comment did I notice that the lawns in the first picture are nicely mown, which is rather better than those of us on my street have managed.
