Day 1119: Sunny Thursday
Apr. 13th, 2023 11:55 pmI attended two meetings online today. The first was for the Oregon Bach Festival book club, which is reading… Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass. I’d been wondering why for months, and recently learned it’s because Ralph Vaughan Williams’ first symphony includes some of the poetry from it, and the OBF is planning to perform it this summer.
Later I attended part of my employer’s Scientist Retreat and gave a 5-minute update on everything I’m working on, which was fun. After that, I rested and read, etc., which were fine things to do! I had the idea that I wanted to read outside, since it was sunny, but even with a sweater on, a blanket wrapped around me, the usually-uncomfortably-warm socks J’s mom gave me last Christmas, and Oberon on my lap, it was still a bit too cold. I took a hot shower and switched to reading indoors!

Date: 2023-04-16 08:31 pm (UTC)This is Oberon (black) and Azalyn (light-colored), both looking at Ambrose on the lawn. The lawnmower battery had run out before I got to the part of the lawn where Ambrose is sitting.
