Day 1114: Practical matters
Apr. 8th, 2023 11:54 pmI still felt quite unwell today from yesterday's movie (vestibular migraine, I assume), but I did get J's livingroom vacuumed today. Unfortunately, although I was holding the dangly-yarn toy out of the way, I didn't do a very good job of it and all at once a bunch of the yarn got wound around the roller. So then I needed to take the roller out. It turned out to be pretty complicated, with hidden screws, etc., but eventually I found a youtube video to show how to do it. I then successfully unwound the yarn and cleaned up the roller in general. So far, though, I haven't been able to get the vacuum cleaner back together. The first time I was missing a major piece, so I undid it and started again, and then found that a small mysterious piece was no longer inside. By then I was too nauseated and gave up for the day.
Earlier, when I checked J's mail, I happened to see our neighbor MM who can do fancy concrete, which is what I want behind my house instead of the blackberry vines. So I got him to take a look, as he was walking past my house to go to the store anyway. The good news is that although I should still cut the current blackberry vines to the ground, I needn't worry about digging them out or figuring out how to poison them without putting the cats at risk, because he says they'll bring in an excavator to dig out the soil. This should save me weeks of effort! Also it should be fine to put in the new fence first. So, as soon as we have a break in the rain long enough for me to also finish mowing the rest of the lawn first (I finally got started yesterday), then I can return to the blackberry project, ideally before it starts growing crazy again in May.
Also, today D. filed to graduate this term. I'm sure he'll be glad to be done with school!

Date: 2023-04-09 12:17 pm (UTC)That sounds so great that concrete instead of dealing with your Blackberry brambles every Spring. What a great plan.
Hope your headache clears up.
*Hugs*
