Day 1088: A music day
Mar. 13th, 2023 11:57 pmToday I woke to find that the violinist whom I'd connected with my literary agent had sent me the first draft of her first book chapter! I had fun reading it and writing up notes until it was time to go to symphony happy hour. Our guest composer, Gabriella Smith, was ill at home so it was just Francesco, telling us about the symphony she'd composed for us and also the works by Brahms and Rachmaninoff scheduled for this week. I had not only J and DG with me but also NJ, who hadn't been there for symphony happy hour previously.
They all had to leave for Magic right before the trivia contest, but GS surprised me, having just arrived for the open mic event that happens once we symphony people have left. He sat down beside me and applied himself to doing the trivia contest too, although of course he hadn't prepared for it and hadn't even known Francesco, our conductor, previously. I tied for second place, but I haven't yet looked in the prize bag.
When I got home, I wrote up all my input for the violinist. It had finally stopped raining, and now we have thick fog.
