Day 1086: Fun doings
Mar. 11th, 2023 11:54 pmThis afternoon J and DG played Magic at an event some guys had set up at a fun location not far from our house, Viking Braggot. When there was only an hour or so left in the event, AA showed up, and after a bit I went and joined her for some conversation while J and DG finished playing, then we all ordered lunch. I had a "berserker" burger (ground beef, romaine, mushroom onion jam, pepper bacon, and havarti on a brioche), and J and DG shared a pizza with thin slices of potato on it. And bacon and cheeses. AA had the vegan version of a burger.
As soon as we got home it was time to go do things again. J packed up and went off to play Rolemaster, while I went to the university. I picked up a library book that had come in for me then returned to the Lutheran church on the street where I'd parked for the concluding program of this year's Musicking conference, a series of works by Schütz and his contemporaries. Schütz was the most prominent German composer before Bach; I'd never heard of him until a few months ago. At the end of the event I got to chat briefly with my friend GP, who's visiting from Italy again.
