Day 1084: Dishwasher
Mar. 9th, 2023 11:50 pmAlthough my dishwasher is only 9-10 years old, It hasn't been doing a good job lately, so today I embarked on cleaning it. I've never cleaned a dishwasher in my life, nor have I ever heard of anyone actually doing such a thing, so it was a minor adventure. Although I rinse the dishes thoroughly before washing them, the two filter parts were truly revolting, and it felt very satisfying to get them clean! Then I ran a cycle with an upright cup of vinegar, then I ran a cycle with baking soda sprinkled all over the bottom of it. I hope all this has done the trick!
Just after dark, I walked over to my friend BHW's to lend her a book, and she invited me in, and we chatted for an hour. She has, in fact, cleaned her dishwasher (she works in water treatment and is surely more conscious of such things than many of us), and she said the little sprinkler holes can also get clogged. Mine seem fine, though.
