Feb. 26th, 2023 02:04 pmThe Wedding Date, by Jasmine Guillory. This is the third book by her that I’ve read, and maybe it was the first written? I was delighted to realize that it has characters in common with both While We Were Dating and The Proposal; I hadn’t noticed connections between the other two books, but it could be from the gap between when I’d read them. But the main female character’s closest coworker and her best friend, in The Wedding Date, are a married couple in White We Were Dating and that coworker is the brother of While We Were Dating’s main male character. Meanwhile, the main male character in The Wedding Date has a best friend who’s the main male character in The Proposal.
Anyway, Guillory writes fun books about young Black professionals who fall in love. They seem to have quite an impressive amount of sex between when they meet and when they finally realize they’re in love, though, and in this one they did very little else together, other than also eating great food.
