Day 1068: New shoes!

I basically have one pair of shoes at a time, and they last me for years, so buying a new pair of shoes is a rare event. This time I bought a pair that appears to be very high quality! Considering they cost vastly more than any pair of shoes I've ever owned, I sure hope this is the case. They are extremely comfortable too. I then bought four books at the bookstore across the street. Considering that when I left home, my only serious plan was to return a library book before tomorrow's snowstorm, it was quite an adventure. The snow started while I was downtown, too, although by the time I was two-thirds of the way home it had stopped.

Oh wow, that is wild about your shoes. I don't like to wear the same pair of shoes every day and I have different shoes for different weather. You really just wear one pair at a time?

I really do. I have some snow boots, too, though. We just go barefoot indoors.

I used to just wear socks indoors until my foot issues started. Now I wear slippers with some special arch supports. Barefoot is the best <3

The last time I tried to buy slippers, none of them would fit! I guess my arch is too high for my foot to be able to slide in properly, which is an issue with buying regular shoes too. I've never had an issue with footwear until the last five years, so I wonder if something has changed with the shoe and slipper industry.

I buy a brand called Vionic slippers to support really high arches. I noticed that too, nothing else has enough arch support these days unless I buy REI insoles.

I don't think I even know what arch support is, or rather, I can imagine but I don't know what it would feel like to need it. But I'm thrilled to learn about the Vionic brand! Thanks!

I just bought a pair of their slippers online. They don't have half sizes in the slippers.

Not for Vionics (because they have nice arch support) but for other shoes, I buy them a half size too big or bring them with me when I shop for shoes.

Cool! My problem isn't that my feet hurt and need support, it's that the bone structure makes my feet too tall to fit inside many shoes and especially slippers.

Oh! You must have really high arches! In many shoes I feel like my arches are lifted from the sole of the shoe. They still could help is my thought. If you end up getting any Vionics, when I wear arch supports, they feel like the feel of the Vionics. :)
