Day 1257: Did it!
Aug. 29th, 2023 11:58 pmI woke up today to find… zero emails postponing book club! It was cloudy but no longer hazy. A very light rain had fallen and cleared out the air! And it was warm enough, mid-70s.
I tried to mow J’s lawn, but the battery charger was broken. I tried to repair the water feature, which had broken a few days ago, but couldn’t fit the tube back onto the pump. I did get all the food ready, and I even tidied inside J’s house in case people wanted to meet indoors.
And they came! And we had a great time! This was the meeting with just the four of us who wanted to talk about Hester, not the full group, and we really enjoyed talking about everything else too. Nobody cared that there were weeds in the lawn or that the water feature wasn’t doing its nice trickling. At the end, J. came outside and showed his longsword to HB, whose husband and son might be interested in the sword school – he had been well enough to attend sword class today, finally, after 12 days of this tough respiratory virus which I am very glad not to have caught.
Yay!!
