Day 1249: Cat updates
Aug. 21st, 2023 11:13 pmSorin's meow sounded strange yesterday or the day before, and today it is completely gone. I don't mind (ha) because it's a loud meow, but why is it happening, and is it uncomfortable for him? My theory is that the new air purifier in the livingroom is drying out the air too much. He likes to lie right in front of it.
Meanwhile, I had been wondering what caused a tear in Oberon's ear and a small slash on the top of his head. Now I have a theory. I'd been carrying Ambrose but set him down when I saw Oberon, because I wanted to take a picture of Oberon, and Ambrose dashed up and grabbed at both sides of Oberon's head! Oberon did not care for this. Ambrose, please stop wondering why the other cats avoid you; it should be obvious.
Meanwhile, the reason I was trying to photograph Oberon was because I had reason to make a Facebook post about him. It said, "We have finally identified the species of my good friend Oberon! After listening to his voice, the Merlin app informs me that he is a Northern Pygmy-Owl. Good to know!"
(I had opened the front door, heard a bird I thought was a flicker (they make a lot of different sounds), and got out my phone to find out. Meanwhile, Oberon was hungry and started meowing, and the app "identified" him first. Then it moved on to a chickadee, then finally agreed with me about the flicker.)
