More of Tuesday
Aug. 16th, 2023 03:05 amAs the day progressed, the air quality improved, and by 7 pm it was reasonable enough. That is, I wouldn't want to sit outside in it, but it wasn't particularly hazardous for those of us who don't have asthma. So, I drove downtown! The library had three books on hold for me. The sun was more pinkish orange than it ought to be, and it was nearly 100 still, but there was a pleasant breeze, and I was just fine. And when I got home, I stayed outside long enough to water the potted plants and to pick a bowlful of blackberries with no ill effects.
The cats (Sorin and Ajani) are pleased with the new air purifier. It blows a gentle breeze and is not alarming. They both like to lie near it.
I spent the rest of the evening in J's house with Ambrose and Azalyn, reading a fun new book, then I came home and finished watching the first episode of the 1984 series of Mapp & Lucia. Then I chatted online with J, whose plane from Raleigh to Seattle is about to take off. He'll probably be napping in his big comfy chair before I'm awake.
