Day 614: Utah 38, Oregon 7
Nov. 20th, 2021 11:54 pmOur football team has fallen from its lofty perch as #3 in the country, losing decisively to the Utah team. If I'd felt healthier today, I would have left after halftime to go watch the high school production of a farcical version of Pride & Prejudice, but instead I kept working on my newspaper backlog and made it all the way through August.
D. came home from his weekly stint at the supermarket bakery with the news that his poor boss has had to work 16 days straight (and 9-10 hours a day) because the other baker has again been exposed to COVID and again has to quarantine. She has four more days before she gets a day off. I hope she'll enjoy all the extra income. I bet if D. were working as many hours as he had in the summer, he'd be learning a lot about baking so as to help her more.
