Day 586: Minor excitements
Oct. 23rd, 2021 10:52 pmThe first excitement of the day was when Oregon's football team beat UCLA in a close and exciting game. Not exciting to anyone here but me, though.
The other minor excitement was that I made a comment on a NYT article which has gotten 24 "recommendations" so far (their equivalent of "likes"). The article was about how Frank Herbert had learned a lot about ecology from Native teachers, and I connected it with the local article about his inspiration from our Florence sand dunes. Again, not exciting to anyone here but me, but it was fun.
I'm still sick but feel much better than yesterday. That's great, especially since I looked in my health journal and found that the last time I had these symptoms it lasted for six days. I did a bit of housework and went to the store, instead of just lying around all day. I also conserved energy by not making a risotto, since that requires me to pop up and stir it every 2-3 minutes.
J. finished the main story of the "Garden Game" videogame this evening, and in a bit we'll see the conclusion of the Fena: Pirate Princess anime. She's neither a pirate nor, technically, a princess, which is our ongoing joke.
