Day 584: Missing out
Oct. 22nd, 2021 11:55 pmThere's a new exhibit at our university's Museum of Natural and Cultural History - normally their cultural history exhibits are about our Native people and their ancestors, but this one is different. It's about Magic in Medieval Europe, and it's curated by a folklore professor whom I'm eager to meet. I was going to take her adult ed seminar on King Arthur in spring 2020, but of course that was cancelled. I thought today's reception for the exhibit would be a great time to meet her. Unfortunately, when I woke today I felt somewhat nauseated, and that didn't improve as the day went on, so I stayed home, sick, instead.
This week's Friday evening movie was Addams Family Values, which I hadn't seen before. It was better than the original, with Joan Cusack as the villain, and a great "B story" about the children, made especially fun because the actress playing Wednesday was excellent.
