Day 580: Symphony talk
Oct. 18th, 2021 11:57 pmI felt much better today and was able to attend the happy hour for the Symphony; Francesco told us about three of the pieces they'll be playing, which are based on (but not exactly danceable versions) of the foxtrot, the danzón, and the waltz. The event was at the Jazz Station, which doesn't have food, though DG (who was attending for his first time) got a nice beer. J. was also there and enjoyed spacing out to the music, he said; JS and BS weren't there. I hope I'll see them on Thursday - and of course, that I stay well for Thursday too.
Afterwards, J and DG played Magic, finishing in 1st and 3rd respectively out of 17 players, and I relaxed at home and got some writing done. When J. got home, he learned that his uncle in Florida has been injured in a motorcycle accident and is now in the hospital. It's stressful news for their family, but neither J. nor his dad are close to the uncle.
