Day 577: Taxes mailed!

eve_primeToday's big achievement was printing my forms at the office, signing and copying and assembling them, and getting them into the mail. I have never had such a time with the taxes before. I'm looking forward to the 2021 forms as trivially easy!
It was very bright outside, and the drive to my office was quite pretty with lots of fall color.
As soon as I was done with that, J. was interested in ordering dinner as he'd never had lunch, so we did that; I got fish tacos. While waiting for the delivery, I got another 62 apples picked/counted - that is, I picked all the ones I could reach, and rather than risking my low "DEX score" with a ladder I just counted the rest. Then I discovered that some number of apples had fallen outside the fence, but I saved counting them for another day as I didn't want to encourage the kittens to be in the driveway when we were expecting a vehicle to arrive with food.
Meanwhile, the three choices for Movie Night were The Craft, Heathers, and Death Becomes Her. I utterly loathe Heathers and told J. I wouldn't watch if that's what was chosen. He told me that Death Becomes Her is one of his dad's favorite movies, and it was in the lead in the Discord community voting, so I asked a few more questions about that and concluded that it would be fine. Then I looked up The Craft and realized that I probably did not want to watch that one either; I had just been distracted by Heathers and hadn't done my research. Unfortunately, The Craft made a comeback, and ended up tied with Death Becomes Her, and won the coin toss, and it turned out that J. had never voted! And then it turned out that he was expecting me to vote! I have voted only twice, in more than a year, and only when he explicitly asked me to do so, since it's his community after all.
So he watched the movie, and I stayed home and watched Oregon defeat Cal 24-17 in a very close game with what must have been an extremely frustrating finish for Cal, being 3rd and goal with 10 seconds left, then 4th and goal with 5 seconds left, then not scoring. My original plan had been to start watching the game at halftime, when the movie ended, but it was fine - I got more of my newspaper backlog read (the "news" sections from April).
