Day 524: Games for groups
Aug. 22nd, 2021 09:45 pmJ. was completely determined to get his family to play the Jackbox TV game "Trivia Murder Party 2," and today was the day (since, you know, he couldn't be with them in NC today). His mom definitely wanted to play, but her technology level is fairly low. His dad's technology level is very high, but he doesn't like games (or socializing, frankly). One brother needed to be tending to his children by the time of day that their mother was willing to play, and the other brother did log on for a few minutes but was stricken with, I don't know, maybe social anxiety and left. But J. was very, very patient (it's one of his gifts), and he did manage to get his mom 1. onto Skype, 2. onto jackbox.tv at the same time, and 3. seeing both windows at once (we'd tried to get her on with two separate devices, as I was doing, but their iPad was too old). (Her idea had been that she could write down her trivia answers and show us later, but, nope.)
And it worked! We played three rounds, and each of us had a turn winning; she won first.
Meanwhile, D. headed off to Roaring Rapids to play miniature golf with his secondary set of friends from high school. They also have outdoor seating beside the river for pizza, so perhaps he's gotten dinner too.
The kittens have reappeared; they hadn't been around since Wednesday, though on Thursday D. and I saw them near the house where they were probably born.
