Day...500? Rather hectic

We sure did a lot today. I met with landscape cleanup people, who took notes toward bidding but said they can't do much until the fire season has passed, because using their power tools after 10 a.m. is apparently forbidden. Meanwhile, J. had someone in to repair the dryer, but they had to order a necessary part. I had a lot otherwise to do - a bit of work, vacuuming the younger cats' main room, and most of all, getting ready for D's birthday tomorrow. I did shopping, wrapping, pie dough making, and yet more shopping because I was unexpectedly out of baking powder. So much!
Also I spent a bunch of time and energy helping J. and his brother strategize about his upcoming visit. J's brother has two sons, ages 1.5 and approaching 5, and J. hasn't been to North Carolina since the older one was 2. The complication is that his mom wants to organize things in a certain way, so they're having to think of options for how he can spend some time creating a relationship with his nephews without leaving her out.
