Day 490: Blue skies

eve_primeThe sky was a very intense blue today when I walked down to the park to meet J. at the end of his sword class; too bad he had already left without bothering to phone me. He says his thought process was, "Class ended early, so she missed it," and it ended right about there. Fortunately it wasn't all that hot. I saw him briefly at home before he headed off to today's Magic prerelease event and dinner after with DG.
D. says his new job is much more interesting (less boring) than the other one, and he also likes that he can see people benefitting from the work he's done, which is much more gratifying than just filling boxes. I'm glad he had the other job so that he can appreciate these differences. He was too tired this evening to practice driving, though.
Meanwhile, J's dryer broke in the middle of the second (and much larger) load of laundry. It was just tumbling and tumbling, and when I opened the door, the clothes inside weren't warm at all. I hope someone can come repair it soon; if they can't come tomorrow I should buy some cable so I can string up lines around the house for it all.
