Day 478: Zooming around

eve_primeToday I woke in time to say encouraging things to D. before his job interview at Safeway, then when he got back we learned that he was supposed to get an allergy shot today, so we drove downtown for that. I returned a library book and got another. Starting Monday, we'll go all the way inside the library to get our books on hold; already people are allowed to wander the stacks again. So weird!
I took D. home and tried to make an appointment with my primary care provider - they have an online system but it didn't work for me, alas. Then J. remembered about sending his dad a birthday card, so - while pasta was cooking - I rushed to Safeway and bought a card, then J. wrote on it and (after setting aside the pasta) I drove quickly to the post office (only 3 minutes away) and think I probably got it into today's outgoing mail. It was 4 minutes after the supposed deadline, but it sounded like it landed on a lot of paper rather than thunking on the metal bottom. I went home and ate dinner, then I drove to my office and photocopied some stuff from a book I needed to return, and I went by the university library to do that. And on the way back I stopped at Market of Choice for bread.
Then J. and I read outside until it turned rather cool, then we went on a longer-than-planned walk. So much action!
