The Goblin Emperor, by Katherine Addison, completed yesterday. The premise is that an abused and isolated teenage boy abruptly finds himself the emperor of his people, and because he's an inherently kind and good person, it's challenging to find himself plunged into the world of court intrigue. This is my third reading of this highly regarded book, and this time I read it because there's a new book set in this world, so I wanted to refamiliarize myself with the main character of the new book. It was very centering and relaxing to read it again. Even after wearing myself out from working in the yard, a few minutes with this book and I was re-energized.
