Even though we're officially past social distancing here, I find myself shocked at the idea of going to the county fair, which is being held as normal (in three weeks), and that the university's football games will be played to a potentially full stadium. And those activities are outdoors! Maybe by the fall I'll feel better about indoor public events? I don't know that I will. Only 69.5% of adults are vaccinated in Oregon, but that's considered "good enough." I guess they figure that very few people who haven't gotten the vaccine will do so.

I didn't get much done today, but I did start a few more things. Today's high was only 72° and it was cloudy, although the forecast had called for much warmer weather; it was a relief after that "heat dome" over the weekend.

I am still working on clearing out the blackberry branches from the back lawn. I'd made a mistake when I cleared out the blackberry vines from the flowerbed and tossed them on the lawn, as I then didn't have time to get back to them quickly enough before the grass grew up and made it hard to disentangle the vines, while the presence of the vines made it difficult to mow the grass. I hope I've learned my lesson, and that whenever I clear out blackberry vines in the future I'll put them directly into the bin.
