Day 472: Big "achievement"

eve_primeToday I submitted a paper - the one that was supposed to go to a particular journal until the editor got sidetracked by a self-promoting reviewer who wanted me to write about _her_ topic. Now it's off to a different (and more prestigious) journal, for their consideration. But that's not what I'm most pleased about.
My relatively new vacuum cleaner, which I'm quite fond of, stopped working properly a few weeks ago. It was making a dreadful sound and not picking things up like it should. I was going to take it to a repair shop, but I'd been waiting until the weather cooled off, which it has (today was normal: 74°). So today I cleaned it up, making it nice enough to go off for repairs. And in the process of cleaning, I discovered that the roller brush part was all clogged up, so I fixed it, and that seems to have fixed the whole machine! Yay!
I've been doing this count of days since we started social distancing, etc., for the pandemic (472!), but today the governor's new orders says that our state is essentially done with that. The pandemic is not over, but if we're going back to "normal," maybe I should end my count today?
