Day 459: Bye to our guests

eve_primeI got up in time today to say goodbye to our three guests, who headed northward. J and DG also drove north, and the five of them did the hike at Silver Falls - they visited all but the easternmost falls and walked something like 7 miles (18,000 steps, per J's phone odometer). J and DG arrived here at 9 pm, exhausted.
Meanwhile, my proposal is in very good shape, I think. It's due a week from tomorrow, but there's not much remaining to do. I'm looking forward to turning my attention elsewhere!
D's determined to get his first actual job, and I've been helping him find opportunities. Tonight I discovered that there are cashier and food server positions at the U.S. Olympic Trials, which is at our local university, and he could get the necessary food handler's license online after watching a short training video and taking a test. He was pretty enthusiastic about that when I told him; turns out two of his friends are already signed up for the same job.
