An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States, by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz. I've read a fair number of books about Native Americans/American Indians and thought I had a pretty good idea of how badly my ancestors and their compatriots treated them, but from this book I learned that it was much worse. Brutal. The author is unrelenting, but the book is very good.
