eve_primeOther things happened too - first, our friends JC and MSC let us know their baby girl had been born late on Saturday evening! She's really cute!
Also, J. got to go to a party! A recently retired friend from work hosted a going away party for one of J's current coworkers, who is keeping his job but moving to Portland, and she invited almost everyone who's ever worked for the department. J. spent the day making amaretto brownies and then chex mix, while also having to meet his "sprint" deadlines, and then rushing off to the party. He spent about three and a half hours there and had a great time, although one of his favorite former coworkers didn't come. Also, there wasn't much to eat there besides his brownies and the chex mix, so he was quite popular.
Meanwhile, I did the sword exercise class with just Sean again, as the other student was off at his daughter's softball game again or something, but it was fine, as Sean and I have enough in common that we could have a nice conversation while also doing our exercise. After that, I made some progress on my planter-weeding project, then read outside with my outdoor cats a while, until J. reappeared. His hosts had given him some homemade cider - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic - and I was there to help bring them in, but then we had to do our weekly grocery shopping (at 9 pm), and he was very tired.
(Tomorrow I'm going to meet the tax accountant, who is quite annoyed with my sister for recycling the bank statement she needs to do the estate returns. I called Wells-Fargo to request it, but their "operations department" will have to call me back, and who knows how long it could take.)
