eve_primeWhat a lovely afternoon we had, bright and almost warm. After J's workday ended, I talked him into walking down into the park with me. Our friends are coming over on Friday, and I wanted to see if there were newts in the creek to show them.
Were there newts! We found 22! It was breeding season. The most fascinating bit was when we found four newts all in a single tangle. Eventually it transpired that one pair was mating normally, one gripping the other, but the other two somehow got confused into gripping the male's tail, so they were all in a knot. Eventually the mating pair managed to separate from the other two and tried to keep a distance.
