Day 376: Quick update on Skelly

eve_primeGood news! As we set forth on our walk this evening, we saw Skelly curled up on the back of the camper parked on the street where H's wife lives (I don't know why she doesn't live inside the house, but whatever). I went over and greeted Skelly and told him a friend in South Africa sent his best wishes.
H's wife heard me and came to her window to chat - which is quite unusual. I don't think I've ever had this long of a conversation before, in almost 27 years of living on the same block. She asked about my son who's the same age as her daughter, and I said yes, B's 39th birthday was today, in fact. I clarified for her that the son she'd seen walking past a few minutes previously was a different son, only 20.
Then I asked about Skelly. It turns out that what has happened to Skelly was that someone dumped a large fluffy grey cat into our street, and Skelly (who is normally very submissive) got into a fight for dominance. H. had had to take him to the vet, and Skelly's been under the influence of medications. So he's not sick; he was just very doped up. With luck, he'll recover fully!
