Day 336: Valentine's
Feb. 14th, 2021 11:56 pmToday for Valentine's, I gave J. a Magic playmat with a lavender-purple dragon on it, and he gave me a Steam game, Lost Ember. But what he actually gave me was better than that. Lost Ember was on my Steam wish list, along with several other random games and Zoo World, or something like that, which lets you build a fancy zoo. I loved my Facebook zoo, years ago, and this Steam zoo is visually quite striking. J. knew I wanted the zoo game - I talked about it a lot during the Steam winter sale - but he wanted to give me the other game. So he asked! He said he knew I wanted the zoo game, and if I'd rather have it than the Lost Ember game, I could have that instead. That was the best gift, really, being asked.
Hm, during a break in the rain, we walked to the school and back, to the wall with a mural. For dinner, it took us ages to decide; we ended up ordering from Plank Town, which isn't on Grub Hub, so J. had to drive over to Springfield to pick it up, but he got to have a meal he really likes, something involving a pulled pork sandwich with green apple and a beer cheese dip. I had a burger and four times as many fries as I could eat; we'll see how reheating them in the toaster oven goes. And he watched a Twitch streamer or two, and I read a bunch of papers I'd been procrastinating reading, and a bunch more I learned about from the first batch, so I got to celebrate the day and feel productive too.
Now D's doing a late-night bedroom cleaning. Once a year or so, he gets inspired, and this time it's the ants that want to cuddle up to his laptop charger. Thankfully, he's being quiet about it (and he's a quiet person in general).
