Day 324: And more rain

eve_primeTonight we have a noisy storm outside, although the day started with bright (and unwelcome) sunshine. (It was rather appallingly bright in my kitchen - I even wondered for a moment whether it had snowed.) Right now, J. and I are cozily inside his house. D's been to his girlfriend's house, though, and if he's back by now he probably got pretty wet! And at some point I'll have to brave the driveway to get home again.
Today I learned that the proposal I was expecting to submit on the 19th instead has to wait four more months, for a different funding announcement. Do I mind this? Not at all - it felt like a gift. I can shift gears back to working on what's interesting to work on!
We had book club this evening, too. LB is our Zoom hostess because she has a professional account. Today she started the meeting early so she could make me host, as she needed to do a work call with a client during book club - but then she didn't make me host and didn't mute her laptop during the call, oops! We weren't able to get her attention, so we made a point of talking continuously so as not to overhear her conversation with her client.
(Such wind! Whee!)
Then I came to J's house and went upstairs and finally listened to the full Schubert cello quintet while lying on his bed in the dark. So amazing!
