Day 318: Cozy Wednesday
Jan. 27th, 2021 11:51 pmWe've settled in for a rainy spell. This afternoon, G's lab was thought-provoking, then afterwards I turned to a different topic and wrote a blog post. We had Thai food delivered and got to eat with D, who was telling us about playing Dark Souls, and we discussed the Gamestop stock speculation. (DG had been given 8 shares by his grandfather, 20 years ago, and probably sold them last night or today - we hope he got in on the big profits!) I read a bunch of The Lewis Man, then we did a run in our Hades game, then I tucked J. in and read a bit of Over Sea, Under Stone. I came home, watched some TV, and sketched out another blog post. I also sneezed a lot, considering the rain had knocked all the measurable pollen out of the air.
The TV I watched today was episode three or so of the new All Creatures Great and Small. I thought I recognized the female farmer, then I looked her up and discovered that she'd played David Powlett-Jones's second wife on To Serve Them All My Days. What a long time ago it was that I watched that!
Edit - ha, rereading that it's amusing to see how much of today's recreation put me mentally in Britain. Isle of Lewis, Cornwall, Yorkshire, and now on to fantasy-Hertfordshire...
