Day 310: Pat
Jan. 19th, 2021 11:57 pmMy friend Pat has passed away. She was 76 or so, and had been diagnosed with a late-stage cancer several years ago, so it's no surprise. She was bubbly, and funny - happy to laugh at herself, even, and frank, and she was always flatteringly delighted to see me whenever we ran into each other at a concert or other musical event. I saw her in the background during two of the Delgani Zoom classes I took this year, but I had hoped to see her again in person.
Two years ago, in the spring, after her cancer had come back and she was about to start chemo, her son and his fiancee rushed to Eugene for their wedding, to be sure she could be there. I'm glad she was, and I'm glad that I knew her. I just wish that I could see her partner Rob in person. Maybe next fall? Such a long wait.
